SEE CASE STUDYI’ve had the honor of collaborating with dozens of brands and these are just a select few. My experience is well-rounded: Complex strategic analysis and design systems for multi-layered corporations, user research for fast-paced startups, and evolved information architecture for non-profits. Some have been multi-year endeavors and others only a few short weeks.
I enjoy advocating for my users and solving the right problem, not just any problem. A strategy always has actionable steps, not pie-in-the-sky aspirational buzzwords. My analysis realizes a combination of user research, product metrics and KPIs, market research, business priorities, and technical feasibility & effort to evaluate effort versus value versus risk. I believe in data-informed decisions with ongoing, transparent communication and team alignment and hope to truly build goodness for a product, both within the organization and beyond a product’s borders.
I have a Certified Scrum Product Owner certification and training in a ECBA-, CCBA-, and CBAP-endorsed business analysis course to more deeply understand the PO and BA perspective. I’m confident in my ability to facilitate meetings & discussions to keep a task moving, breaking down blockers and considering all perspectives and possibilities.
User research helps teams make better decisions, ensuring they solve the right problems the right way. It builds empathy, aligns user, business, and tech goals, and gets everyone on the same page with data-backed insights. I combine qualitative methods—like interviews and usability tests—with quantitative data—like surveys and analytics—to reduce the risk of building things people don’t want or can’t use. I’m big on avoiding assumptions by talking to users regularly and staying up to date on inclusivity practices. I also jump in to support things like market research and product audits to keep projects on track.
Interface design happens in three phases: ideation, concept design, and validation, all closely working with developers to keep things efficient and user-friendly. I start by turning research into potential solutions, pulling ideas from past approaches, stakeholder input, and expert insights. These ideas go through constant tweaking using sketches, wireframes, and prototypes, with plenty of feedback from users and the team. Finally, usability testing and data help us fine-tune the design until we’re confident it’s ready to launch.
Working closely with developers is key to building great products. I stay in constant communication with them to make sure ideas are doable and align with technical needs like performance, security, and compliance. Once a design is approved and validated, I hand off clear prototypes, detailed requirements, and easy-to-reference documentation. I also like to include a "Design Review" before QA to catch usability issues, prevent bugs, and keep the user experience smooth. This collaboration helps us find the best solutions and build better products together.
At the heart of every delightful interaction is a visual brand that resonates with the user and supports the customer experience. Brands breathe life into a digital product, turning customers from one-time users into devoted supporters.
I am professionally trained in brand identity, with a degree in graphic design, a minor in mass communications, and experience working for one of the best advertising agencies in the Twin Cities. My brand skills run the gamut from logo design to full brand identity system, which can then extend to product design systems.
